In the Championship Game 2 in Omaha, the stadium is packed to the gills with fans from all over the country coming to watch the LSU Tigers bring home the eighth national title to Baton Rouge and defeat the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers.
What started as a quick inning in the top of the first with Coastal Carolina ace pitcher Jacob Morrison on the mound and a scoreless top of the first came to a halt in the bottom of the first.
With two outs and a man on base in a blur, head coach Kevin Schnall and first base coach Matt Schilling were ejected from the game after an altercation with the four umpires. What started as a pitch clock violation ended with an umpire on the ground and a police escort for the two coaches.
Following the shakeup, in the bottom of the second inning, Dean Mihos hit a solo shot homer, making that his third one of the season. Putting the Chanticleers at an early lead that would be taken away very quickly.
In the top of the third, Ethan Frey steps up to the plate delivering a double that would put Stevan Milam across the home plate safely, tying the game up 1-1.
Just when you thought it was done for the Tigers, four more runs came across the plate after a bases-loaded no-outs situation. Chris Stanfield singled to left field to send the first pair home. Then, to keep adding to it, the freshman phenom Derek Curiel stepped up to the plate, adding another single right up the middle, sending the second pair home to bring the score to 5-1.
As the runs kept coming in the top of the fourth, Charles Schwab Field erupted, bringing everyone to their feet as the chance to get that magic national title number eight just got a whole lot closer.
The Chanticleers, with Anthony Eyanson on the mound, were not able to bring in runners or get many on base. In typical Eyanson fashion, after getting jammed into tricky situations, he is able to lock into the zone and get the last outs needed.
To keep it going strong, a two run homer from the Chanticleers helped keep them alive but was put to an end by Chase Shores to make the LSU Tigers eight time National Champions with a final score of 5-3.
